One of my favorite things about Lena is she doesn’t take all the crap Jimmy throws at her. They butt heads at first, but only because both of them are strong willed. Lena has some things going on in her personal life that make it easy to just take off and be Jimmy’s 24/7 companion.
So the band decides he needs an assistant (aka a ‘sober companion’) and thats where Lena comes in. To stay in the band, he’s gotta stay clean and keep it together. Jimmy has been in a bad place for a while. most of the time, I’ve still been excited to read his book! And it lived up to my expectations. I don’t care that Jimmy is kind of a train wreck and a grouchy s.o.b. The guy in the group who's in and out of rehab. Lead was released in 2014 and is still one of my favorites by this author.Jimmy Ferris… the lead singer of Stage Dive. “Please? Come down here, I want you on top of me.” “Don’t go.” My clingy hands reached for him. He half smiled and raised himself back onto his knees. “You zoned out on me,” he said accusingly, his hair hanging in his face as he stared down at me. “W-what?” Obviously, my self-control and Jimmy’s hard on could not peacefully coexist in the same space.
Jimmy swore and suspended himself over me on his hands and knees. Had I any talent with a pen, I’d have written it poems. Even incased in rubber it remained a thing of true beauty. But it is the troubled Jimmy, the lead singer with addiction problems who can’t seem to get his life together, who I fell for the hardest in this series. I know everyone tends to remember Mal, the drummer for Stage Dive, especially since he has such a big, slightly manic, fun personality. I remember reading this series back when it was new and shiny and falling in love with Kylie Scott and her words.
